Print

FINLAND (News release) -- Metsä Board has completed change negotiations related to its Euro 200 million cost savings and profitability improvement program launched in July 2025, according to the company. The negotiations, initiated on 7 October 2025, covered all personnel in all operating countries.

In Finland, the process ended earlier, reducing 150 positions, as the company reported in November 2025. Negotiations in other countries have now concluded, resulting in 160 additional reductions. Altogether, the company will reduce 310 positions through the process.

The negotiations also included agreements on reorganizing tasks and functions to improve efficiency and strengthen competitiveness. Metsä Board will record Euro 14 million in one-off costs in its comparable operating result for October-December 2025 related to the change negotiations.

The program, including effects through Metsä Group's shared services, is expected to yield annual cost savings of Euro 30 million starting from the first quarter of 2026.
