PrintCOWLITZ COUNTY, Wash. (From news reports) -- The body of a man who was on his way to deliver food to a family near Kalama River on Aug. 7 but never showed up was found in timberland owned by Weyerhaeuser on Sunday, Aug. 30, in Cowlitz County, the sheriff's office said.
Someone found Brent Erickson's abandoned Ford F-150 pickup stuck in a ditch on a remote road on Friday. Deputies searched the area for the next two days but were unable to find him.
On Sunday, a Weyerhaeuser employee found Erickson's body in steep, dense underbrush about a half mile from his pickup truck.
The sheriff's office said an autopsy has been conducted by the Cowlitz County Coroner's Office and is awaiting the results of its report.
