The Price Companies will install a new wood handling line at its facility in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to increase chipping capacity and secure a reliable supply of high-quality wood chips for pulp and paperboard operations. The new line is scheduled to start up in November 2028. The equipment will be supplied by Valmet. The companies did not disclose the value of the order.

The new wood handling line will handle tree-length softwood and hardwood logs from log infeed through debarking and chipping. The system is designed with a capacity of 475 tonnes of roundwood per hour and will include a powered infeed conveyor, a trunnion-design debarking drum, a Valmet Disc Chipper Carthage, and belt conveyors.

The line will produce wood chips while reducing wood losses through a continuous handling process. The investment will increase chipping capacity and provide a reliable supply of wood chips for the company's pulp and paperboard customers.

The Price Companies processes nearly 30 million tonnes of wood each year across multiple sites in North America. The company also reports annual water savings of more than 10 billion gallons while supplying wood chips and fiber products to the pulp and paper industry.
