West Fraser Curtails Plywood Production
Print
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 20 March 2009 -- West Fraser today announced plywood production curtailments in response to continuing weak demand. West Fraser will implement one-week curtailments at its two British Columbia plywood facilities commencing 30 March 2009. Approximately 600 full and part-time employees will be affected by these curtailments.

These curtailments reflect the continuing weakening of demand as the downturn of the Canadian housing market continues.

West Fraser is an integrated wood products company producing lumber, LVL, MDF, plywood, pulp, linerboard, kraft paper, and newsprint. West Fraser shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol WFT.
