Belgium's VPK Packaging Group is on the brink of completing its two expansion projects in Poland as planned. The company will open its third Polish corrugated sheet plant as well as its first corrugated packaging plant in the country. The investment sum totalled around €40m, according to the company.

The first production line at the new packaging plant VPK Packaging Sp. z o.o in Radomsko had started operating in late 2014, a company spokeswoman told EUWID. The other lines are scheduled to be installed and put into operation by the end of the first quarter. With this new plant, VPK Packaging is entering the Polish corrugated packaging market. The new corrugated sheet plant is located in Skarbimierz in southern Poland and will trade under the name of Aquila Brzeg Sp. z o.o. According to VPK Packaging, production will start up at the end of January. The corrugated board line has a width of 2.8 m and will increase the group's corrugated board capacities in the country by 35% to reach 600 million m².
