Print
Heidenheim, Germany, 22 June 2006 -- Daio Paper Corporation at Shikoku Chuo city in Ehime prefecture, Japan, has contracted with Voith Paper to supply their new PM 10 production line. The turn-key arrangement includes erection and supervision for commissioning and start up.

The machine will include technology based on Voith's One Platform Concept. The technology allows for a machine speed of up to 1800 m/min maximum and a wire width of 8100 mm. A wide variety of top quality woodfree lightweight coated (LWC) ultra LWC (Bitokoshi), and MWC glossy and matte grade papers can be produced in the basis weight range of 38-105 g/m2 can be produced.

The order for the paper machine itself calls for a MasterJet headbox with ModuleJet dilution water control, a DuoFormer TQv, a Tandem NipcoFlex press and a TopDuoRun predryer section. The SpeedSizer AT for sizing is followed by a TopDuoRun after-dryer section and a single-nip EcoCal calender with Nipcorect technology, ensuring uniform sheet thickness ahead of the coating section.

The coating section has two varidwell jet fountain application systems for blade coating and one roll-coating SpeedSizer AT system, complete with the respective drying systems.

Calendering will be handled with an eight-roll Janus MK2 calender, with provisions for expansion to 10 rolls. Single nip operation for matte grades is also possible. The Sirius reel is designed with parent roll oscillation and winding up of parent rolls of up to 3700 mm diameter.

The parent rolls will be transported automatically from the Sirius reel to the unwinds of the two winders. The Parent Roll Transportation System includes an automatic shuttle cart. The two VariPlus winders, specifically suited for high-gloss paper, cut the paper rolls to precise widths.

The start-up of PM 10 is planned for the 3rd quarter of 2007.

The supply of the production line 10 for Daio Paper is the first order for a complete unit for a Japanese customer after several years. It is the result of the good cooperation between Voith Paper Heidenheim, Germany, and Voith Paper IHI, Japan.
