Visy to Open New $99M Cardboard Plant in Truganina
Print

Southbank, Victoria, Australia 22 October 2018 -- This investment is another example of our commitment to spend $2 billion over the next ten years to create 5,000 Australian manufacturing jobs.

Visy is opening a $99 million state-of-the-art new corrugated cardboard plant in Truganina, which will create 85 new jobs in Melbourne's West.

Minister for Industry and Employment Ben Carroll and Visy Co-Owner Fiona Geminder toured the facility last week to meet workers and inspect the plant.

Commenting on the government's support for the new facility, Ben Carroll MP said, "We're backing Visy's massive expansion because it'll boost our economy, create 85 new jobs and give work to former auto-workers."

Supporting the primary producers, manufacturers and retailers in the local food and beverage market, cardboard produced at the plant will be manufactured from recycled paper and cardboard.

This investment is another example of our commitment to spend $2 billion over the next ten years to create 5,000 Australian manufacturing jobs.
