UPM to Modernize Uncoated Magazine Paper Production at its Jämsänkoski Mill
Print
Helsinki, Finland, 01 December 2006 -– UPM will invest EUR 38 million in the quality of uncoated magazine paper by modernizing mechanical pulp production at its Jämsänkoski mill in Finland. The investment will be completed early in 2008.

Paper Machine 4 at the Jämsänkoski mill, which currently produces coated magazine paper, will be modified during the second quarter of 2007 to produce label papers. With this change, mechanical pulp production at the mill can focus on the characteristics of uncoated magazine paper.

UPM's Jämsänkoski mill produces magazine and label papers on four production lines. The mill's annual production capacity is 870,000 metric tons, and it employs about 800 people.
