Toscotec to Supply Two Tissue Lines to WEPA Group

Marlia, Italy 25 September 2014 -- The German based WEPA Group, has chosen Toscotec as supplier for their new tissue lines which will be installed at the Bousbecque Plant in France and at the Giershagen site in Germany.

The new Toscotec AHEAD-2.0S lines will play a strategic role in the company's continuous expansion in the European tissue market. The Lille start-up is scheduled for the 3rd quarter of 2015 while the Giershagen line will be started-up the 4th quarter of 2015.

With 66 years of life WEPA is today the fourth largest hygiene paper manufacturer in Western Europe since their founding in 1948. The company is present in different markets with complete lines of products, as brand or as private label, able to respond effectively to requests from dealers and to meet the demands of consumers in Europe. The Krengel family-run company, has a turn over of around 1 billion € with 3,000 employees. The main products they provide are: toilet paper, kitchen towels, tissues, cosmetic tissues, paper towels, napkins, industrial paper. The Company, that features a market shares of 25% in Germany and of 8% in Europe, has five locations in Germany, two in Italy and one each in France, Poland, and -through Joint Ventures- in UK and Spain with a total of 16 paper machines and more than 70 converting lines for rolled and folded hygiene paper products.

The turn key Toscotec delivery for the new TM#18 and TM#19, based on the best available technology, will comprise stock preparation systems for virgin pulp, AHEAD-2.0S tissue machines, TM and plant auxiliaries, electrification & control systems.

Both the tissue machines are equipped with single layer headbox, double press configuration, steel Yankee cylinder TT SYD-15FT and Milltech (Toscotec associated) hood, dust & mist removal. Full engineering, erection, erection supervision, training, start-up and commissioning complete the Toscotec supply.

The tissue machines will have a width of 2.8 m and a design speed of 2,000 mpm. The new lines will produce, among the other grades, high-quality super-soft toilet tissue.

The two greenfield projects will be focused on energy savings and low emission concepts with a great attention to the environmental issues as well as to the impact on the site.
