Tissue Producer Celtex Eyes Expansion to Moldova


Montecarlo, Italy 22 September 2017 -- Celtex is planning to invest €3-4m in the construction of a new plant for tissue products in Moldova.

Italian tissue products manufacturer Celtex is considering an expansion to the Republic of Moldova. According to a statement of the Moldovan Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the company's CEO Andrea Bernacchi met with the Deputy Minister of Economy Vitalie Iurcu to establish investment opportunities in the country. The government reportedly welcomes the initiative of the Italian company.

The Ministry says that Celtex intends to open a plant for the production of toilet paper and other related export-oriented products. The plant would be opened in the free economic zone OTACI - BUSINESS in northern Moldova. The initial investment sum was put at €3-4m. No further details have been reported so far.

Celtex is a manufacturer of tissue and nonwoven cleaning and hygiene products for the Away-From-Home sector, such as facial tissues, medical rolls or dispensers. The company, which manages the entire production process, from the paper mill to converting, has locations in Italy, France, Germany and Poland. It employs about 150 people and has an annual turnover of around €200m.
