MARIETTA, Georgia (News Release) -- Sheet-break failures from heat, debris, web strikes, operator paper-hooks, coating splashes, sizing splashes, mount failures, excessive sensor bouncing and more are a thing of the past with RYECO's new Smart-ONE Break Detection System™.

These common problems are eliminated if the sensor is mounted on the machine frame and outside the web path, according to Tim Rye, RYECO President and General Manager. The new detection system has a sensing range of up to 30 feet (10 Meters)--a figure that Rye says has never been achieved before.

The system can detect both open draw and sheet-on-fabric breaks at long distances without reflectors or using a thru-beam, making it immune to vibration or operator interference.

Rye, who developed the system, said, "The ideal mounting setup for the sensor is outside of the web path on the machine frame. This allows for the sensor beam to hit the sheet about midway across the web and at a 45-degree angle." The Model 9010 sensor features easy access for maintenance and can even be installed on the run, Rye added.

The RYECO Smart-ONE System utilizes the latest Model 9010 Break Sensor and the Smart Box control cabinet. The Model 9010 sensor has built-in air purge, temperature sensor, and uses high-intensity LED technology. The Smart Box includes one-button, on-sheet setup, auto-calibration, built in trending and logging, maintenance alarms, and HMI touch screen among its many features, the company said.
