Pöyry Selected as Consultant for Amcor's Machine Project in Sydney, Australia

Vantaa, Finland, 08 September 2008 -- Pöyry has been selected as the main engineering consultant for Amcor's new B9 linerboard machine project at their existing Botany mill in Sydney, Australia. The value of the assignment is not disclosed.

The new board paper machine has a design capacity of 345 000 tons/year of linerboard and testliner produced from 100% recycled fiber. Production is scheduled to start in the second half of 2010. The new project includes a new stock preparation plant. Raw material will be 100% mixed waste paper and Australian old corrugated container. The new paper machine will replace the two older existing paper machines at the Botany mill.

Pöyry's services include basic engineering, detail engineering, field engineering, and procurement services.
