Pöyry Acquires Swiss Consultancy Firm
Print
Vantaa, Finland, 03 December 2008 -- Pöyry has expanded its presence in the Swiss infrastructure and environment market by acquiring Kündig & Partner AG, one of the country's highly specialized engineering consultancy companies active in the provision of heating and air conditioning (HVAC) building services. With this acquisition, Pöyry continues to maintain its position as a leading consultant in the engineering sector in Switzerland, and Pöyry's clients will benefit from this latest state-of-the art know-how.

The main activities of the Bern-based company are similar to the current Pöyry Group activities in Germany and Switzerland. However, this acquisition also brings in a focus on complex and sophisticated sanitary designs of hospitals and laboratory facilities. This company will perform as a regional base in western Switzerland, providing the full service offering to present and future clients in this region, and therefore complements the Pöyry Group's office network in Zurich, Chur, and Lugano.

Kündig & Partner was founded in 1966 and today employs 10 highly specialised experts. It had net sales of close to EUR 1.5 million in 2007 and the company will be consolidated into Pöyry as of 01 December 2008. By joining forces with Kündig & Partner, Pöyry is strengthening its position as one of largest consultants in German-speaking countries, by now employing more than 1200 experts in this region, where it has net sales exceeding EUR 100 million.

Pöyry is a global consulting and engineering firm focusing on the energy, forest industry, infrastructure, and environment sectors. Pöyry's net sales in 2007 amounted to about EUR 720 million and it employs 8000 experts.
