Ipel Starts Up New Paper Machine

Santa Catarina, Brazil, SA 14 February 2014 -- Brazilian tissue producer Ipel announces that it will start up its new tissue paper machine (PM4) in April.

The new machine has the capacity to produce 26,400 tons per year of tissue paper — more than doubling the company’s current output of around 24,000 tpy.

Ipel’s only plant in Brazil is located in Indaial city, Santa Catarina state. The new equipment was supplied by Hergen.

Located in the municipality of Santa Catarina, Ipel has three paper machines with a combined production capacity of 2,000 tons per month and approximately 350 direct employees.
