Comment Print
Heidenheim, Germany, 15 November 2010 -- To increase the competitiveness of its existing PM 51 and PM 53 paper machines even further, Holmen Paper has commissioned Voith to deliver two quality control systems to its Braviken mill.

Along with the standard sensors for measuring basis weight, moisture, and ash content, the package includes 100% noncontacting caliper sensors and a color sensor. In addition, the new Voith color control will now be used on both machines to achieve uniform color quality along with high profile quality. The existing steam box and the remoisturizer will be completely integrated into the quality control system.

Holmen Paper AB in Braviken produces 180,000 metric tons of white and colored directory paper and light newsprint grades annually on its PM 51, and up to 300,000 metric tons of newsprint paper on 8.9 m-wide PM 53.

Voith Paper is a division of the Voith Group. Through constant innovations, Voith Paper is optimizing the paper manufacturing process, focusing on developing resource-saving products to reduce the use of energy, water, and fibers.

Voith is setting the standard in the paper, energy, mobility, and service markets. Established on 01 January 1867, Voith currently has 39,000 employees, EUR 5 billion in sales, and more than 280 locations worldwide and is one of the largest family-owned businesses in Europe.
