Fire Crews Tackle Large Blaze at Pratt Facility

Australia, 26 February 2016 -- (From ABC Online) -- Fire crews in Melbourne on Thursday were tackling a large fire in a paper yard at Pratt Industries in Campbellfield, in Melbourne's north.

Staff were evacuated and fire crews in breathing apparatus fought the fire in a 30-metre by 20-metre stack contained within concrete walls.

Heavy machinery was used to pull the stack apart so fire crews could tackle the blaze.

Fire officials said Thursday it would take some time to put the fire out because of the size of the paper stacks it was burning in.

A fire advice warning has been issued for the area because of the smoke, and trains on the Craigieburn train line were stopped because of poor visibility.

Fire crews from the Metropolitan Fire Brigade and the Country Fire Authority were fighting the blaze.
