Condat Closes PM#6

Robinson, France 24 June 2013 -- The French paper manufacturer Condat has decided to shut down one paper machine. The stoppage of line 6 will take effect as from first July 2013. The decision will result in 139 eliminated jobs.

However, the workers have been prepared for this move. The initial project submitted to the workers’ elected representatives on 22nd March 2013 envisaged the elimination of 144 jobs. Five of these positions have been kept through the negotiations with the representative bodies, which leaves the number of jobs eliminated at 139

Condat, along with Cartiere del Garda in Italy and Torraspapel in Spain, is part of the Lecta Group, one of the largest manufacturers of coated woodfree paper in Europe and the market leader in Southern Europe (Spain, Portugal, France and Italy).
