Arauco to Buy $245 Million Mexico Assets from Masisa


Santiago, Chile 20 December 2017 -- (From news reports) -- Chilean forestry company Arauco, a subsidiary of industrial conglomerate Empresas Copec SA, will buy $245 million of assets in Mexico from rival Grupo Masisa SA, Arauco said in a statement on Tuesday.

After the purchase of Masisa's three plants in Mexico, Arauco will become the world's second-largest wood panel producer, with installed capacity of more than 10 million cubic meters of panels, the company said.
