Beijing, China 05 June 2013 -- The government of China has officially announced  the reduction of outdated capacities for production of paper and cardboard by 4.55 million tons.

Such a decision is part of the earlier announced plans of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to close up to 19 production facilities from different segments of the country’s industrial production, including pulp and paper.

In 2011 the Chinese government closed more than 8.31 million tons of outdated facilities for the production of pulp and paper.

According to state plans, by 2015, there is a need to close several facilities for the production of wood pulp with the annual capacity of less than 51,000 tons; lines for the production of pulp from non-wood plant materials with the annual capacity of less than 34,000 tons; lines for Waste paper processing lines with an annual capacity of less than 10,000 tons; lines for the production of newsprint, with an annual capacity of less than 50,000 tons; lines for the production of paper for writing and printing with the wire width of 1.76 meters; lines for the production of boxboard with a wire width of less than 2 m and speed below 80 m/min.
